Preschool staff works with St. Pius X teachers to promote readiness for kindergarten. Dramatic play, building activities, educational games, computer & Ipad access help your child grow both academically and socially.

 

For your child's body....The best way for preschoolers to learn is through play. We provide a wide opportunity to suit all children's interests. An emphasis is placed on self care and learning to care for our bodies and respecting others. A combination of small and large motor activities keep children moving and learning, and helps to keep young minds focused.

For your child's spirit...Christian values are offered to all children as part of their learning. Age appropriate religious activities will enrich your child's spirtuality. Preschool holiday activities will occur throughout the year with parent's invited to attend. Character Counts program is integrated into the curriculum.

Preschool FAQ's...

• Q: I want my child to get plenty of attention. How many children will be in the class?
  A: The maximum class size is nineteen students, taught by one certified teacher and one associate.
  
  
• Q: How old does my child have to be?
  A: Children must be 4 years old by September 15th.
  
  
• Q: I've been hearing a lot about QPPS in Iowa. Is St. Pius X Preschool a QPPS School?
  A: Yes, St. Pius X Preschool will follow the Quality Preschol Program Standards.
  
  
• Q: What is the class schedule?
  A: Classes are Monday-Friday from 8:00am - 11:00am for the morning session and 12:00pm - 3:00pm for the afternoon session. Childcare is available on site before and after preschool time from 6:30am and until 6:00pm.
